The LP Woodcraft Story
Les Poirier has worked with wood for over 40 years, and started LP Woodcraft from his shop in Mission, BC in 2024.
Les started his career in Northern BC, working in forestry and milling in a pivotal time for this industry that shaped the province. It provided a foundation of knowledge about milling his own wood and a lifelong appreciation for the resource.
Moving to Kamloops early in his career, he opened a custom cabinet shop, where he made unique, high-quality kitchens and other wood finishing for homes and businesses around Kamloops and beyond.
Now residing in Mission, BC (close to his grandkids) he takes a slow approach to woodworking by thoughtfully sourcing each piece of wood. He then crafts and carves each item into a piece that lets the story of the wood shine, and results in beautiful, unique and functional items. Much of the wood he uses is already in circulation and is rescued from being wood waste.
He's replicated his shop onto a property in the Stave Falls area, where Les now creates using the skills, tools, and knowledge gained across his lifetime. Every piece of wood has a story, every new piece is shaped for a thoughtful purpose, and every step taken is done with care and intention.
